Satsuma Download

Convert files mid‑drag.

Drag any file, tap ⇧ Shift, drop it on a format. Satsuma opens a wheel of conversions, editing tools and file actions right at your pointer, then saves the result next to the original. Nothing is uploaded.

⇧

Convert 310 paths

Images, audio, video, PDFs, documents, slides, spreadsheets, EPUB, subtitles and archives. The wheel only shows formats that make sense for what you're dragging.

⌘

Tools 26 tools

Compress, crop, trim, split, merge, redact, annotate, add a background, change speed, make a collage. Quick ones run on drop; the rest open a small window.

⌃

Actions 6 actions

AirDrop, Float, Copy, Move, Copy Path and Terminal. They work for any file, folder or mixed selection.

Every format it reads, and what it makes.

Drop on a petal and the copy appears beside the original with the new extension. Dashed formats can be read but are never written. PDFs export every page, with page images at 300 DPI by default.

KindReadsMakes

Tools that know the file type.

Tap ⌘ while dragging and the wheel swaps to editing tools for that kind of file. Select several files and you get the tools that work on a selection, like Create PDF, Collage, Merge and Join.

Originals are never touched. You can send everything to one folder instead, in Settings.

Your files stay on your Mac.

Online converters need a copy of your file on someone else's server. Satsuma does the work locally, with the frameworks your Mac already has and a few open-source tools for the formats Apple doesn't write. While it works, a progress window shows the time left. Drag it anywhere and it opens there next time.

Built in

ImageIO, PDFKit, Vision text recognition, Core Image and AVFoundation handle images, PDFs, OCR, photo edits and previews.
